If you want to be less cranky and manage to do the most possible in a day, there has to be a balance. It is possible to squeeze the maximum number of things in a twenty-four hour day as long you plan an give a time limit for each.
Certain days there are so many things to do and people to see. Other times there is a big void between appointments. The balance in a day's activities is very delicate. It is terrible when your balance is thrown off by a person that is indecisive with there own schedule and then causes a delay in the rest of your day. Then the outcomes are not the way you want them or expect them to be.
Do not rely on others for your timeliness. If you have things to do, keep going otherwise the whole day is shot.
The more you wait for anything the longer it takes to get to the next. We need to live to work so we can live some more. If things happen that delay us then, we have less time to live with pleasure. Respect for life is equal to not wasting time with indecisiveness.
As we get older we realize that if we have a plan time lasts longer. We can fit more activities in a particular unit of time. With more things done, there is more pleasure time on the schedule. Even though somethings could be chores, there are still good feelings that come from them.
