Sleep.

Sleep Too Much
Sleep is one of the most important part of healthy living.  The more you sleep the better.  Sleeping less will usually bring about health problems.  Oversleeping will also bring forth problems with health as well.  When a baby is born it needs the most sleep time for it to be able to grow strong and healthy.  In today's modern world there are not enough hours in the day to satisfy work, play and rest.  When you do more work, play and rest suffer. For me to be able to function properly, I would between six and eight hours of sleep.
Not Enough Time In The Day.
Many times at work the boss would ask you to work overtime. This is good because you pick extra money on you paycheck.  There are times where he trade off between overtime and actual time can be taxing to your  health.
Resting Comfortably.
There are times I run into people and they say they do not need the sleep.  Other times I see the same people and they are "sick as a dog."  Lack of rest makes a person sluggish and irritable  and possibly more susceptible to a slew of illnesses.  Your body needs energy to be able to fight an attack from any bacteria.  A tired person is more apt to catch any and all bacterial invasions.
A well rested person is ready to tackle most anything that they are put to task.  The muscles in the body are energized and ready for maximum output.  Life is very complicated with our everyday dealings and this is why we sleep. Our brain will be able  to make sound decisions.  When we tax our bodies more and sleep less they will begin to break down.  A person that allots less time for sleep then there is a possibility that their lifespan will be much shorter that of a person that is fully rested.

Concentration

Concentration is important if we are to succeed at anything in life.  My family and I live in on of the best public school district in New York.  When I got married with my wife, we decided to have children.  Making a baby is the day part, raising  the child is when the difficulties show up.  Someone once said to me, "small children equal small problem, big children equal big problems".  As we as a race move forward into the future life becomes ever more difficult.  People are competing more for the same limited positions in the work force.

My wife and I, are the first from our families to get a university education.  Whatever we managed to do until know is satisfactory because we had absolutely no parental help.  Our parents did not even manage to finish high school .  My parents had completed the sixth grade.  The came from Greece and when they were growing up it was a time of war  (World War II).  Greece was plundered and pillaged, most of the people were just worried about food and education was secondary.

Today children in the have more than those of the generation our parents came from.   All they need to do is to focus on, is what they would like to do with them selves in the future.  Time passes unbelievably fast and before you know it the future is here and now.  The modern household have every modern convenience and technology available and there at two or three of each.  My sons were taught since they were babies that technology is your friend is you use it right and do not let it dominate your life.  If the tools that are supposed to make our life easy and fun become addictive and allow a person to neglect other parts of their life, then limits have to be set.
Think about what you want to do in  life and concentrate on achieving your goal.  Every worth something take time and concentration.  When it comes to study time children will do everything but study.  There choices to be made.  Do more work and concentrate on and in school and be what you want.    Do not allow yourself to be distracted often.
When a student sets limits on the video gaming part of their life, hopefully other more important parts of their life will not suffer.  For me what ever you do in life should give you something in return.  When you put money in the bank, there is interest paid in return.  Every transaction in life involves a give and take.
Why have children if you are not going to try your best to raise them to be better than you.  Life has an infinite number of distractions.  If you want to be a star student and you want your gases to be as high as they can be then you must concentrate on your study time.  More concentration equals better grades and in turn results in more choices for  better universities and better choices for careers.  Before you do something think about what will be the return and if the time you investing is worth the return.

Satisfaction...

People are born every day and the first thing they do is CRY.   Crying for babies is a way for them to clear their lungs from any fluids and to inflate them with air for breathing.  Crying is the first way for infants to bring themselves to the attention of those people watching them.  When babies cry it is their way to signal, the they are in need food or changing or they are uncomfortable.  Babies eventually grow up to be adults, they do not cry as often. As they grow they still express their dissatisfaction through nagging and general complaints. My mother is now in a nursing home because she is diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.  When mom was well, she was at my father beck and call.  Whatever my father wanted he would call out my mother's name.  The tenants left did you clean the apartment for the new people?  Where is my warm towel?  Is the water ht for my bath?  Are we packed?  Are you ready we are leaving?  I am home is the meal ready?  People are never satisfied, too hot, too cold, too spicy, too long, too short, and host more things that we can complain.  Everybody has their own cross to carry but  int the same train of thought many people are looking to make everybody else's cross heavier by complaining extra about meaningless things.
I have been married quite a few years and have discovered that by just by walking away and not saying anything most times you win more  (less is more).

There are so many personalities in this world that many times they clash.  I do not understand why people buy convertible automobiles if the live in countries that it rains ninety five percent of the time.  The roof leaks and water is coming in. I am getting wet.  People are constantly looking for happiness but most of the time do not find it but they do get close, until it rains.  I am always in favor of a hard top (less mechanical complications).  People are never one hundred percent complete.  Two people sit in a restaurant to have a meal and drinks, so they can socialize for a while.  From the moment they sit down without cause, the whining and complaints begin.  "My water needs refreshing,  may I have some extra rolls, my fork fell, the soup is cold (you ordered vichyssoise - cold soup)".  People go out that have never been to a luxury spot before and order complicated things to show their sophistication and they do not like their choices.  Who do you think is going to pay for their blunder? The waiter, the bartender, the busboy any body that is near the idiot with the fat wallet that decided to be Mr Big.  A real big shot never complains even if they are not satisfied.  If things happen to their dislike once, they try once more.  If things are still off then no more.  No screaming,  no yelling, no degrading just peace and quiet.

I am of the philosophy, if life gives you lemons, do not fret, just make lemonade.  It is acceptable for infant to cry and whine but as we grow older what do not say or do is what makes us stronger.  Many times I have been to top rated places where the service was slightly off but management recognized it and was invited again at no charge as an apology because of my demeanor.  People have to understand that it is not the place that makes the atmosphere, just the company they are with.

Less Is More.

Do not sit in the dark!!!

My oldest son is in high school, in the eleventh grade.  Lately, when I come home in the evening, he is perched by the sixty inch living room television.  He is not watching any shows, instead he is playing with the XBOX in the dark.  At the age of seventeen a person should be concentrating on midterms, finals, SAT's,  ACT's, Regent's and anything and everything that will help him get into a quality university.  I am not berating video games, just that anything in exaggeration is possibly unhealthy.  Make sure if you are going to be spending time on something you are actually learning in the time that is being invested.  From the moment you are born, to the time you pass away, life should be a learning experience.  If you are not learning in life, it is a waste.
Ever since, I met my wife and married her and we had children, our goal was and is for our children to become better than us.    So far our three sons are growing as we have expected,  good, well rounded young men.  My boys are involved in school athletics and public service in addition to their school work.
When my wife and I were growing up, we were both children of immigrant parents.   Our parents did not have more than an elementary school education.  What ever we achieved, was good enough because it would be better than what our parents had.   I remember when I was young, my mother would say, "do whatever you want in life as long as you get an education".  What she meant was, that I go to university and graduate with at least a bachelors degree (BA or BS).  The field of study did not matter to her as long as I had the paper on the wall, that she never manage to get.  Guess what Mom, I did what you wanted  and even more.  Yes, as the world moves forward into the future, knowledge is the key to better living.
Where I am now is solely through my own doing. My parents were unable to help me with reading or writing.  Whatever I did was good because they did not know any better.  As a child, when I came home from school, the front garden was my playground, on good weather days.  Other times, I would do my homework and watch two or three shows on my parents black & white television set, have dinner and then bathe and go to bed by eight in the evening.
All youth goes through similar stages of stress.  When we talk to our friends and parents many times our worries are lightened and this stage of life goes with minimal grief.  Talking is a tremendous stress release because we find out that other people are going through life with similar situations and how they are coping.
I am still of the philosophy my mother had, "get and education and do what you want".  As time passes the more a person know's, the better the chance of surviving comfortably in society.   I am not saying that I am perfect.  It is not possible to be perfect but if it were a person would be GOD.  We live in a society, where the people believe in only one God and he or she, is the only perfect and almighty spirit/being.  All we can ask for is for our children to be better than us and if they manage this feat it will prove that we as parents were great teachers(mentors).

Do Not Rush Otherwise You will make it worse!!!

Hurry up...Someone calls out at the work place..."Hurry up!!"  Okay is heard and then a tray of dishes and glasses are heard crashing to the floor.  Then I hear "are you alright?"  The only thing rushing does, is to make things worse.  People should go to work and want to be there.  Morale is tremendous factor for all employees to the right job.  When a person go to work and finds an environment that is cold and calculating with no warmth production becomes lax.
When the boss has an inviting atmosphere and policies that do not squeeze the employees then production and service will be better.
Work and Home should be separate and should never mix.  Do not bring work home and absolutely no family dealings at work.  These two opposites always clash and many times make each other dysfunctional.   Each individual entity has a different agenda and many do not match and should not intermingle.   Work should be professional with no room for drama.  Home is where people can find safety from the world people could be loose without fear.
When you go home you are safe and calm, no work to think about and customers say too hot or to cold. The management send secret shoppers trying to gage to you and if are paying attention to the precious client.  On the other hand you are too friendly and you are overlooking your other customers.  There has to be a balance.  The only way for the most to be dope would be to be yourself and relax.  When you are always in a rush something suffers.  Mistakes happen when in a hurry and overlook certain processes.  If you take your time it costs more but you will be saving by retaining more clients instead taking care more people in fast less efficient manner and have more returns exchanges or general complaints.

Greed

Greed is not a good thing.  When a person decides that the more they have the better, this is part of gathering wealth.  We must remember the time when we were children and the teacher or our parents would say to "share" or "play nice."  Having everything or being mean is not positive strategy.  A person walks into an "all you can eat buffet" and tries to eat as much as they can, to cover the price they paid to get in the buffet.    When we exhibit greed, showing that we want everything for ourselves, people tend to be turned off and become leery of being in our company.

When you are in an "all you can eat buffet", theoretically you can sit in the restaurant and eat all you want without limit from the establishment, other than the hours of operation.  I remember being at a buffet and next to my table is a family with their plates stacked very high, empties on one side and those waiting to be eaten on the other.  I would look at these people and think, wow! How much can these people eat.  A restaurant that decides to be classified as "all you can eat", is looking to attract customers with the idea of giving value for their money.
When the buffet restaurants have customers that eat more than normal, the profit margin becomes smaller and causes the establishment to rethink its price point.

In business, when a company tries to corner the market in whatever it is they are producing, in some ways is called free enterprise and in other way it is viewed a pure greed.   When business is concentrated by one person or a small group, then others trying to be in the same field will be edged out causing price wars and limiting variety and slowly reducing profits and forcing cutbacks.  Eventually, either the small guy is edged out or bought by the bigger competitor.

On the other hand when a person goes to "all you can eat" buffet's, their health will begin to deteriorate in the form of high cholesterol, high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity or any number of food related disorders.
Eating too much of anything causes the human body to react in different ways that are detrimental.  Fat around the liver an hinder it from  processing blood in an efficient manner.  Fat buildup around the heart causes high blood pressure or heart disease.
When business competes in a free economy,  prices stay low for a while and the consumer benefits.  On the other hand, with low prices and competition, workers are laid off and eventually, businesses go out of business because of cutbacks so sharp that it does not pay to produce.   The only person that benefits is the consumer from competition and price cutting.  Even the public sometimes cannot catch up to the competing producers.  Too many choices make things less profitable because people end up with redundant products and services.

Eat Like Human At The All You Can Eat Buffet.
Be Fair Compete But Do Not Put Each Other Out Of Business.

If You Want Success You Must Invest The Time....

A business is like a child in that it needs nurturing to survive. Food, water, cleanliness and warmth to grow is what a baby needs when it is born.  When a business is put together from the time it is born needs a plan.  For a business to survive it has costs both fixed and variable.  Fixed costs are rent, utilities, labor, insurance, repairs and taxes.  Variable costs are labor, benefits, supplies and repairs.
If there is to be success time must be available and without limit.  Both the baby and the business need time to grow.  Time is a tremendous cost for a business to grow but if the vest is smart the reward is also great.  If you look at one variable more than the other then the balance will be off and something will suffer.  With a small labor force productions is limited to the capabilities of the workers.  There is only a specific number that can be produced by a single laborer per hour.  Even with overtime and incentives that is it.
A investment in capital will then allow a greater production and a happier labor force because they will have less overtime but better working conditions leaving more time for family.  Morale will in turn increase because of the ease of the work load.
Development whether it is for product or clients it needs time.  Paying salaries and benefits to employees is a huge investment.  Milk and diapers is equally a large part of raising a baby.  For the baby to grow properly time is a key factor.  Everyday the media     has stories about troubled youth that could saved if their parents invested the time.  Recently I heard about a high level person in politics that their child was arrested for drug possession and pimping young girls.  Listen if you want to have children you have to invest the time otherwise you are wasting both your time and the unfortunate child.  The balance is delicate.
If you want to be successful in your career and have terrific children that you will be proud of then the time spent with them should be greater than that at work.  Children do not need to be bought with stuff, they need your time.  Time costs money and either way if the child is to be successful, the more the better.  An equilibrium has to be stuck between work and children.  I choose to work around my kids and partake in as many of their activities as possible while they are growing up.

Help...

Do not be afraid to ask for Help, we are all human and have our limitations.  When you ask for assistance it show that you are willing to be a team player.  As the population grows, more and more people are found doing things that need more manpower and energy to be completed.
If humanity is to  get anywhere of significance it must strive together toward the beneficial goals of all.  In today's world all we see is people each trying to beat one another for many times  for meaningless reasons.  Everywhere I go, people are saying they are suffering from cutbacks in the name of balanced budget.  For a person that really is educated more than the common man cutbacks are often happening for reasons other than economics.  Many people hence many personalities.  With all the people roaming the planet, not everyone is a match.  Things do not always happen because of logic instead, people personalize things and feel that if they have the power then why not use it to spite those that at some point have disagreed with them.  As the economy gets tighter, people involve more feeling in the decisions of running their business.
Every person in the world is able to learn.  Each person is on a different level unique to them selves and in turn learns at their own pace.  Sometimes the difference in aptitude leads things to happen differently.  Learning allows for teamwork and puts people together towards success.  Learning leads every human being to power and success.  Goals are better achieved through teamwork and camaraderie.  We all need to live and survive, hatred and spite does no one any good.  Bad feeling only fester and do absolutely no good. So for me HELP translated into Humanity, Energy, Learning is Power.  Work together for a better future without involving personal animosity to hinder progress.  When the big powers that be make cuts, they should think about something more than temporary profit.  If they cut today, tomorrow, they are subject to the same blade.

Agreements........

Before you even know things are greed upon and finalized.  Arguments are a waste of time.  Employers lead you on, thinking that you (the employee) are  working on a resolution and meanwhile the problem had long been settled.
My Great Grand Father came to the United States in 1906  looking for a better future.  He went to work in Indiana doing odd jobs and then finding work building the railroad.  Work conditions were brutal and this led him to organize the labor force and demand rights.  Workers had to know what they were supposed to do and how many hours was their work day.  In addition, workers have to know what their work duties are.  If you are hired to do a particular job, your responsibility does not grow with pay staying flat.

Around 1925 he returned to Greece with his small fortune and brought transportation to the island where he lived (Cephalonia). His kind heart and business savvy (street smarts) led him build a large fortune but sadly the onset of world war two brought struggle.  Unemployment and hunger brought my father to this country at the end of World War II.

My father visited his uncle in Indiana but farming was not  his cup of tea.  Next stop was  Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania the city that my Paternal Grandfather's brother had settled in the early 1900's.  He was in the restaurant business at the time early 1950's.  My father worked hard doing dishes serving diners cleaning.  The restaurant business is an excellent place to be if do not speak the language of the host country. A few months later my father finds employment in a local Pittsburgh hotel.  This hotel was a unionized shop.  When a person works for a business that is unionized every employee has a specific task.  More people get to work in ideal conditions.  With more people working the economy is in a better balance.
With duties defined work is no longer slavery.  Morale is up and production is better when every worker knows that they have to do a specific task and not every single thing that needs to be done.  When every one who signs a contract follows the outline there are no problems.  Sometimes management tries to trim budgets and attempts to consolidate positions to save pay and benefits.  For a minimal payout or the promise of overtime, certain employees will choose to betray the agreement.  When either side of the bargaining table begins to give in to previously negotiated contracts, signals the beginning of the end.
Production maximization is good as long as workers rights are respected according the agreements settled on by the relative parties.
We live in a Free Society, where employers and employees can spell out their demands and iron them out in  an agreement.  Before unions and agreements, people worked in horrible conditions that resembled slavery.

Miserable!?

Most places I walk in to and people I talk to seem miserable.  Give somebody an inch of kindness and they are ready to squash you like a bug.  Today's young leaders are fed the hype that they will grow by being severe with their leadership style.  In the age of go-go-go, management pushes it's workers to produce at maximum levels without regard for their personal needs.

Napoleon was a short French military leader that had a desire to conquer without regard for loss of life.

Always Looking For An Angle...

The economy has created a people that are always looking to get  something for free.  When a person becomes your client, it is done so with anterior motives.  A person makes a deal with you with the premise that you will overlook something and they in turn will complain a look to get reparation for damages the got elsewhere.
Life is not the same as it used to be when the generations before us were growing up.  People are less honest than they used to be.  Today we need cameras, security procedures, warning signs, security guards and dogs to keep everybody honest.  A few years I recall taking some one to court for unpaid rent.  It turned out that I won the case.  At a point during the trial the tenant was making accusations and the case was flowing and suddenly the judge stops and turns to the tenant and says "Sir, I want you to stop because I am not going to call you a liar but the facts show that you are not telling the truth".
Up until now, I have seen people try to crash events for free meals and drinks, in hotel and restaurants.  I have seen people walk into clothing store and leave dressed to the nines without paying.  I have witnessed people trying to get their vehicle repaired for damages that did not occur on premises.  Deceit is the way of today.  Folks today think that they are entitled to the world because of their ways.
People think that everything belongs to them no matter what or how they are going to achieve them.  The fact that we are born and living in this world does n to mean that everything is ours.  To acquire anything people have to work and earn it. What the people of the new generations have to learn is that nothing is free and rightfully should not be.
For the world economies to function in a balance things should be bought and sold.  In a world full of free, things begin to collapse and everything begins to cost more than it would had we been charging reasonably from the beginning.  If everybody in this world would be just a little more honest, there would be less problems.

Don't Rush! Things will happen better!

Everything happens for a reason and this is why we do not rush.  If something is meant to occur it is going to happen no matter what interference is thrown in the way.  If you have a plan things happen with a better outcome and at a more comfortable pace.
Decide what you want to do and set a plan.  Once you have the idea of what you want to do and how you are going to achieve it.   Then set forth and go.  Life has many obstacles both animate and inanimate.  When we do not rush and have a plan the desired outcomes will occur closer to the way we want them.  Obstacles are out there everywhere and all the time.  With a plan and proper time things will flow without much friction.  Nothing is definite in life except for death and taxes.  With a plan we can achieve the goals that we set.  Shortages and surpluses are many time manmade.  We do not have to fall victim to any threat with proper plan.  Be secure with who you are, what you want and where you want to go.  The plan should take you there.  Time is the key to success.

If You Speak Loud Enough......

We live in a free society but try to open your mouth and say something loud enough to be heard.  Sooner or later someone will knock on your door.  America is the best place to live without any doubt.  But make no mistake it is not a free society.  It is also very far from being a democracy.  Yes we are allowed to speak our mind, as long we are not stepping on any toes.
Be careful what you say.

Do not step on any toes.

If You are Not Coming Do Not Make Me Wait...

If you want to be less cranky and manage to do the most possible in a day, there has to be a balance.  It is possible to squeeze the maximum number of things in a twenty-four hour day as long you plan an give a time limit for each.

Certain days there are so many things to do and people to see.  Other times there is a big void between appointments.  The balance in a day's activities is very delicate.  It is terrible when your balance is thrown off by a person that is indecisive with there own schedule and then causes a delay in the rest of your day.  Then the outcomes are not the way you want them or expect them to be.

Do not rely on others for your timeliness.  If you have things to do, keep going otherwise the whole day is shot.
The more you wait for anything the longer it takes to get to the next.   We need to live to work so we can live some more.  If things happen that delay us then, we have less time to live with pleasure.  Respect for life is equal to not wasting time with indecisiveness.
As we get older we realize that if we have a plan time lasts longer.  We can fit more activities in a particular unit of time.  With more things done, there is more pleasure time on the schedule.  Even though somethings could be chores, there are still good feelings that come from them.

Time stops for no one!!!

Fennel.....Sauteed ala Mediterranean

Fennel looks like an onion on the bottom and dill on the top.  It smells like anise and has a sweet tinge.   Fennel grows like an onion, half under ground and half above.  It is an excellent accompaniment for fish, meat or poultry.  Fennel can be served fresh shaved in a  salad.  It can be grilled with salt, pepper and olive oil.  Sauteed is a the way I like it.  When you saute fennel it should be cut into quarter inch thick wheels and place into a large skillet with about a half cup olive oil with salt and pepper to taste.  Make sure the oil is very hot when the fennel wheels are in the skillet.  Cook the wheels until wilted and are brownish in color.  For an even greater depth of flavor chop about ten pitted Kalamata olives and stir them in the pan and let them cook a few minutes more. The addition of olives allows for a balance of favors and color.  Fennel has long been neglected from my table. Now I found it and can say that its texture and add brightness to the meal.
In addition to being very tasty fennel has many health benefits.  It contains a very high amount of iron and therefore is very good for the blood.  This onion like vegetable is commonly used in the treatment of blod disorders.Fennel is sweet and licorice in flavor for this reason it acts as a breathe freshener.   It also acts as a diuretic, meaning that the consumption of fennel with clear your kidneys.  Constipation is eliminated because fennel contains plenty of fiber to allow for the clearing of the colon.

Go on!!!Make an Attempt to Pay!!!

Every time I go out with friends and it is time to pay, their hands get arthritis.  I end up with the check.  We as humans like to be in the company of others.  Everyone has a different definition of companionship.  I usually like to sit and talk over a meal.
People love to go out with friends all the time.  It is just that the people that go out like to ride the wave of free loaders.  I have gone out so many times with friends. When it is time to pay the check they head for the toilet or look like they are making a phone call.  My parents raised me so that if I do not have any money in my pocket, I should not go out.  If your friends happen to pick up the check, make an offer to split it, or make sure you pick up the check at another time.  Free loaders are not liked by many people because they feel exploited.
From a very young age, I learned that money is a necessary evil.  It makes acquiring different things easier and life much happier.   People either do not have money or do not want to spend theirs.  This is when the problems begin.  Back in kindergarten, there was a child that would ask if I had a dime (ten cents) to give him.  This person that would ask for that petty money grew up asking for larger amounts through the years.  Today he is prison for a greater crime.
Money does not make real friends.  In the long run asking for loans from friends becomes uncomfortable and a nuisance. If anyone needs a loan they should go to a bank.  People ask for money from friends and promise to pay it back at a certain time but they do not come through on their word now it becomes a problem.
Everyone should be equal to each other person and among friends no one should have more privileges than another.  There is no reason anyone should feel used or exploited because their friends are looking to get over on them.  People are all equal and one is not more privileged than the other.   Everybody works  and lives more or less in the same fashion.
If you want to keep going out, bring you wallet!!!

Brussels sprouts or mini cabbage..

Brussels sprout are delicious way to fortify on your supply vitamins and minerals and almost zero calories. This mini vegetable is an excellent source of vitamins A and C phosphors and potassium.  This is a very versatile vegetable.   It accompanies fish, poultry or meat equally fine.  This season my garden has  a full array of fruits and vegetables of which includes Brussels sprouts.

I usually like to steam Brussels sprouts.   First wash them and then cut them in half.  Then put about half an inch of water in a steamer.  Put the them in top part of the pot and stem until they are bright green.   Remove them from the pot and put them in a large bowl. Add salt pepper and a few chili flakes, then pour half a cup olive oil and toss them together.   As you serve them squeeze a few drops of lemon over each serving.

People No Longer Talk To Each Other

With the advancement of computers and personnel digital assistants the use of our mouths, for the purpose of communication is getting to be obsolete.  I sit in a fancy restaurant to have a meal with lady friend and  at the same moment, my cellphone rings.  The head waiter approaches our table and says, "Sir the use of cellphones is prohibited in the dining room".  I ask why and the answer is "so that we do not disturb the other diners".  As time passes I come to notice that this is now policy in many more establishments.  Around this time is when the PDA(personal digital assistant) comes to market.  Almost two decades later people use these personal computers more than any other device, for the purpose of any communication.
No Cell Phones Allowed Clip Art
No Cellphones allowed
No Talking Allowed

With no more talking there are no more arguments heard on the street.  There are times when you see people being angry but there is no one near them.  This is because they are having a text or cellphone argument.
Communication is getting to be ever more impersonal.  People use the phones to make calls send text, watch movies, listen to music, write and send letter, do research and countless more tasks that make work and play a breeze..  The use of the human voice must not go silent.  The only good thing about not talking, is nobody will hear their spouse complaining and nagging.   What a wonderful world!
Cellphones and personal computers are a necessity of life and progress and should be OK to use.  People should use their vocal cords as well,  for the sake not loosing voices.  If we speak more often we will not forget that we have a voice.
Humans have organ in their body called the appendix.  The organs purpose of the appendix was to filter the germs that the consumption of raw foods brought in.  This little organ  acts like a filter.  It is not used by the body any longer because most of our foods are washed and cooked and almost no bacteria enters.  This is an example of the term "use it or loose it".  There absolutely nothing wrong with progress as long it does hinder the use of things and actions we already have.
Keep quiet, I cannot hear!
Turn your personal computers / cellphones to vibrate!

Anger Management....

Anger management is a term used when people do not like what you have to say.  The term is also used when the tone you are using is no the way your peers expect it to be.  We live in a civilized world.  This means that any time we run into complicated situations, we should handle everything in cool calm and collected manner.  Loosing your demeanor will only make matters worse and you as a person with something to say will be disregarded.
In the modern world when someone says that they agree with you it is not always correct.  People choose to be politically correct in public to avoid conflict and be ostracized.  A term with Greek roots means to banish from the group.
There are many variables controlling our lives and although we are not in a good mood everyday, we do have to portray ourselves as being in good spirits.  Remember the old adage "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me."    As long as you express yourself in a composed manner your place in the society you are a part of, will not be blemished.
In my many years of marriage I have discovered that nothing works better in winning an argument than silence.  There have been many a time that my wife wanted to make a point and she expected me to react with screaming and yelling, instead, I either do not answer or with quiet response "yes  dear".
The larger the population become the more intricate personalities there are.  People are each on their own mental channel  and have their own agendas, to which many times conflict with others.  The solution is to be polite and in every body's own time try to pass their wants.
It is better to walk away from a potential argument. To stay would mean to continue to possibly an argument ant possibly a physical confrontation.  WALK AWAY!  BE CALM!
With a cool head and the rules of anger management people in society can coexist with little or no friction.  In a marriage or a cohabitation arrangement the only friction  that should be is the one between the sheets.  Couples should be able to solve their differences before they go to sleep.  Going to bed aggravated means the bad blood is carried to the next day or days, not healthy.  The concept of anger management is the you get farther with people when you are polite and charming than you are not.
In the name of anger management people have learned to be evasive and waste time.  On the positive end arguments do not last long and marriages last longer.  In addition, friendships last longer because of mutual respect.  In addition people will live longer and their health will be better.
Give the concept of anger management a round of applause, more happy people, less divorce and less people being fired for silly reasons like fighting in the work place.

There are People worse off than you.

Everyday I speak to many different people.  I notice that every person has problems much greater than mine.  As it turns out, life is good and compared to others, my complaints are much smaller than every body else  At least my family and I are not starving and we have a roof over our heads.  People are all starving to make something of their lives.  People are trying to get ahead. What or who they are trying to beat many times  is unknown.  Lately, I have been waking up without the alarm clock sounding off.
With the passing of every  generation life becomes more complicated.  People are pushed to produce more because the have to make more in the hope of saving more.  In the end the person that does  running and pushing gets pushed out himself.  Hunger for growth makes you ruthless and heartless toward your fellow man.  In the economy of today a person is hired supposedly to manage a business.   In reality, a manager is another term for hatchet man.  Companies put young college graduates in position where the want to bring change.  If the young recruit makes it in the short run  they will be promoted.   If a company has a long term plan to reduce expenses then the person doing the cutting will also be eliminated.
You never know the true plans of a low level young manager.  Be careful what you say, the fresh management is fed corporate propaganda everyday and are slowly indoctrinated to look at non management workers as their prey.  Many times the low level manage is also sacrificed in the name of the corporate agenda.
Think before you decide to give somebody a hard time for anything.

Vegetarian kale and Canellini Bean Soup.

If you have been eating too much meat lately it is time to cleanse.  Meat four to five times a week is a manly diet full of protein.  After a while I have decided to lighten the veins and clean the body with a vitamin packed soup.   Soak the beans overnight in the stock pot with cold water.  One pound canellini beans (small white navy beans), eight quarts of water, one quart of beer, one cup of olive oil, salt, pepper, caraway seeds, one Spanish onion, two pounds of washed and chopped kale.   Dice three stacks of celery, three carrots, three medium onions.  Add two eight ounce cans of v-8 and six or seven squirts of your favorite hot sauce.  The next morning pour out the old water and pour fresh water and beer into the stock pot.  Let the beans come to a boil and reduce to a medium heat approximately four hours or until beans are tender then add all the remaining ingredients and cook for an extra hour and a half.
When everything is soft and tender pour into a soup bowl and enjoy.  Add a table spoon of wine vinegar and enjoy with one slice of crusty whole wheat bread.  I made this soup yesterday and my sons said that is  delicious and they each had a second helping.

The beans are loaded with protein and and iron and vitamins and minerals.  The kale is also

loaded with calcium and magnesium and phosphorus.
