Light meals are for Dinner.

Have you ever awaken with drool on your face and sweat on your forehead?  Do you also remember having wacky dreams at the same time?  If your answer is yes.  The possibility is that you had a heavy meal the night before and you did not allow enough time to elapse before you went to bed.  When you eat a big meal the stomach needs blood to power its muscles to grind the stuff that is in it.  When the meal is large the stomach needs more blood.   As the blood is needed by the stomach it is directed away from other parts of the body.  The blood that is in the brain temporarily depletes, this low blood level in turn makes the brain see nightmares.

By going to bed light not only do you avoid nightmares but your heart will healthier and body will not have to struggle with digestion.  I am not telling you not to eat at night, just that your meals should not be large and very close to your bedtime.
The old adage of eating like:
