Not all people are brought up to do all jobs or tasks. I happen to be a bartender and I like being with people and talking and listening and generally mixing it up. To do a job purely for the financial return is wrong unless you have talent. Last night I went with my date of eighteen years to a neighborhood Hot spot (bar-restaurant). I had not reservation on Valentine's Day, oops! We chose to sit at the bar. Let me tell you the whole experience was much more enjoyable than if the hostess was to give us a table. The room was crowded and the waitresses were out to make money so the service would have been fast and pushy. The hostess asked if I had a reservation and the answer was no. The bar was empty we sat at the bar. We were closer to each other and the bartender, she happened to be a gorgeous chatty blonde. Her attitude and service made the experience excellent. I had the opportunity to observe the servers (they were women) all they did was go to tables to put food or drink down . The only interaction that the servers had was either between themselves or the bartender. I do not want to know if my server is going through her menstrual cycle or if her boyfriend is a lousy lover. From the bar a person has a bird's eye view of the whole place and everyone there. Not a single dull moment just in case you are alone or your date turns out not tone who you expected.
As with the babysitter, there is a tremendous responsibility in looking after another person it not about anything else. When you leave a person in charge, it is for peace of mind and not to return to a physical and mental disaster.
