The squirrel is another mammal that like to have and store more than it needs. This animal also puts nuts in its mouth even though it is full and chewing. This animal is constantly chewing yet it is pretty lean for all that eating. People go to buffets and become like squirrels, gobbling everything in sight even though the can only a small amount.
I do not care what the next guy has that I do not have. The problem with society is that everybody looks at everyone else. People are paying for things they bought that they really do not need. People buy things because the see them somewhere else and think they should have it as well. This what I call competing with the Jones'.
Competition is good in school amongst the students but outdoing one another in society leads to having more than we need and more than we can afford. We are paying bills for things we bought and do not need. How many fruit blenders does a person need? Really only one. There are people that have more simply because they like to shop. Our media is constantly pushing people to buy anything and everything...........BUY! BUY! BUY!
The overabundance of purchasing leads to hoarding and another niche business called self-storage. This is a business where people rent rooms to put stuff they bought but have no place to put or no use for. The self storage business charges people a monthly rent for space to store their things. When someone does not pay the storage fees their rooms are put up for auction and other people in turn buy the rooms and resell the contents.
The self storage business has led to birth of a few reality television series. Auction Hunters, Storage Wars, Antique Road show, and Pawnstars are few of these cult shows. These shows are also another market that come up from the over buying society. In these shows people get to buy stuff that other have bought and stored but for whatever reason have lost the rights to because they stopped paying the storage company.
